Hi, I’m Jenell — founder of Over 50 & Thriving.

I created this space for women like me: women who’ve lived, loved, lost time, and still believe there’s more waiting for them. Turning 50 wasn’t some glamorous glow-up moment for me. It was a reckoning. I realized I had spent a lot of my life putting others first, ignoring red flags, missing opportunities, and thinking it was too late to start over.

I’ve worked everywhere from insurance offices to fast food counters, and I’ve had to rebuild from scratch more than once. I raised my son on Section 8 housing during one of the lowest points in my life — but I never let it define me. Eventually, I found my way back into the corporate world, and today I’m using everything I’ve learned to inspire and empower others.

My story is raw, imperfect, and full of lessons I wish I knew earlier — and that’s why I’m sharing it. I want to help other women reclaim their power, restart on their terms, and rewrite the script society hands us at midlife.
